Swedish Birch Cutting Board
Made from untreated birch, this cutting board is made in Sweden. Wood is a living material that must be handled with care. For durability, a new cutting board should be treated before use. Start by wiping your cutting board with a clean, dry cloth. Then apply a good amount of a food-grade oil, we recommend boiled linseed oil or cooking oil. Repeat the treatment several times until the surface feels saturated and no longer absorb oil (about 3-5 times). This treatment should then be made occasionally during the cutting board’s entire lifetime to prevent cracking. When the surface starts to feel worn-out after a few years of use, take a fine sandpaper and sand the surface lightly. Do not forget to oil it again afterwards.

CARE
Caring for your cutting board is important in order to enjoy it for years to come.
Beeswax polish is a popular choice for cutting board maintenance. Beeswax is an all natural wax produced by honey bees and has a variety of applications. You can use it to hydrate, shine, and waterproof a cutting board. Add a good amount of beeswax and rub it in. Let it penetrate the wood overnight. Replenish as needed. You can use baking soda to remove stubborn stains from your cutting board. Simply sprinkle a little directly on the stain and rub it in with a brush dipped in hot water. While it is important to thoroughly clean your cutting board, avoid soaking it in water or washing it in the dishwasher. This will warp or crack your board. Washing the board should be done quickly and efficiently.
