Grimm's Sorting Game Pastel Mushrooms
Create a field of wild rainbow mushrooms with this fun wooden funghi play set from Grimm's. This stacking toy set includes twelve mushroom halves that sit together to create six cute little wooden mushrooms. This is a great game for colour sorting and children will enjoy matching the red cap to the red stem but they can also mix it up to have a dazzling multicoloured mushroom display. This is a lovely natural toy to play with on its own but adds a whole new element of fun if played with in conjunction with other rainbow toys from our Grimm's collection. Stack the mushrooms on top of bobbins or blocks, make mushroom towers with a set of building blocks, play colour matching games with other rainbow toys, use them as maths counters or even ingredients in a tasty mushroom soup - yum!
This beautiful wooden toy will delight children and be approved by parents, teachers and Steiner educators alike for being an open-ended toy that can be enjoyed creatively in a wide variety of ways.
This wooden block set has been made from solid maple and finished with a non-toxic, water-based colour stain - a natural finish that allows the beauty of the wood grain to shine through.
The assembled mushrooms measure 5.7cm x 3.5cm.

Grimm’s Product Care
Grimm’s stands for quality and longevity. When making our toys, we carefully select the wood without defects. At each step, the quality of the wood is checked. But wood lives and responds to air changes. Wood is a natural product and not indestructible, so we can not rule out that something could break. If something breaks, you can repair the piece with wood glue.
Children may be advised and prompted to use caution with their special toys.
If you want to remove dirt from our products, simply wipe with a damp cloth and some soapy water (if necessary). When drying, please do not place on the heater, otherwise cracks may occur in the wood, but allow to dry at room temperature. Please never clean our products with disinfectant, hot water or similar!
OUR MANUFACTURING
We are a family owned and sustainably managed manufacturer, which produces high quality and safe wooden toys made to officially certified standards. In product development, we are guided by the principles of Waldorf education and other educational approaches, such as Montessori. All our products are tested regularly and comply with the European Toy Safety Standard (EN 71) and US standards.
Our products always have unique traces of nature. With a few exceptions, everything is sanded and cut by hand. We use FSC certified alder, lime, beech and maple wood. Woodworking is outsourced to small independent companies in Europe. The largest of these producers has learned his trade working in our company in Germany. At the company headquarters, new products are developed, and products are oiled, dipped in colour, assembled, quality checked, packaged and shipped all over the world.
UNIQUE MARKINGS
We love wood because it is a natural material so it always has various markings that show up in our products. The unique variations are proof of quality, not defects. For example, dark spots on the rainbow are caused by mineral deposits. This means that if the tree had grown further, a branch would have developed at this point. Black stripes are also something completely natural. This is the pith tube or "heart of the tree". It differs from the surrounding wood by the darker colour and structure. When working on the wood, it can become completely or partially visible. This feature is part of the natural appearance of the wood. Therefore, these are not defects for us, but quality features of a natural product and as such are desired and welcomed by us. We love this uniqueness of wood!
PAINTED BY HAND
All rainbow friends and decorative figures are hand-painted and decorated in the most loving detail. In assembly and packaging, we work in part with workshops for adults with special needs in Germany.
OUR COLOURS
The bright colour glaze and plant oils preserve the living surface of the wood in structure and feel. The result is a rough and yet velvety wooden surface, which contributes to a greater play value, because the individual pieces do not slip off so easily. We use glazing colours and vegetable oil for our products. Our colours are water-based, non-toxic and saliva-fast. Of course, all colours and oils are certified according to the European toy safety standard (EN 71).

My toddler LOVES these!
My 21 month old loves these and we can play with them in so many ways like colour matching or building towers around them (plus they look beautiful on the shelf). I'm tempted to get the rainbow ones too!
