The Choroi Pentatonic Wooden Flute is a newly developed pentatonic flute made of quality pear wood without a tone block. It has a slightly stronger tone than those with a tone block and produces a clear transparent tone. All Choroi flutes are characterized by a warm, light, flexible tone. Compared with traditional instruments, the Choroi flutes possess a tone that is similar to the human voice.
This unique tone quality leads to a corresponding style of play. A free outbreathing, rather than an active blowing, forms the foundation for the tone. The mouth and lip positions also contribute to the tone formation. The fingers gently touch the specially formed finger holes, which allow half-steps to be achieved naturally by half covering the holes.
These Pentatonic Flutes were specially developed for children to support their free-playing. The flutes are very convincing when played in a group: also with a larger class, the sound stays pleasant and soft.
These flutes are easy to play. In particular the labium without a tone block enables you to play with a relaxed mouth posture so your air is flowing free.
